Conversations with Blue

Corkin Gallery, Toronto, Canada, June 21 to August 31, 2012

In Conversations with Blue, Nigel Scott has produced cyanotypes that are all one-of-a-kind images, exposing a moment with an intention to bring us closer to the ocean. Scott recalls his early inspiration for this body of work, “On a trip in Jamaica and as a reminder of my mothers’ love of flowers and ikebana, I started using flowers, leaves and anything flora as nature’s negatives.” In 2012, Conversations with Blue, including the original cyanotypes and an accompanying book, gained international exposure through exhibitions at Nakanoshima Museum of Art, in Osaka, Japan, and at the renowned Colette Gallery in Paris, France.
